Euroexam unites the expertise of communicative language teaching with the ‘can-do’ criteria of the Common European Framework (CEFR) to design examinations which promote real-world communicative skills.
In 2001, Euroexam became the first examination board to provide tests directly based on the CEFR ‘can-do’ scales. Today, 14 times a year, Euroexams are offered through a network of 95 local testing centres across Europe and beyond. By taking a Euroexam test, students gain access to a wide range of support materials designed to build their confidence and prepare them for real-life success in a multi-lingual world. |
Euroexams are internationally accredited examinations which are now accepted at various UK universities (recently Hull, Sheffield Hallam, Greenwich, Solent, Winchester and Edge Hill) to meet the English Language requirements for entry to degree courses.
20,000 students per year take these exams, mostly in Central and Eastern Europe, which therefore opens new areas of student recruitment potential for any UK university or college. In August last year, NARIC published their report following a comprehensive evaluation of the Euroexams. The report concluded that the Euroexam Level C1 meets ‘the English language requirements for admission to English-medium higher education studies’. You can see the Executive Summary on the NARIC website. And in December last year, Euroexam launched Euroexam C1 Academic, an exam that is specifically designed to assess the language skills needed for successful study at university. The Euroexam C1 Academic offers academic tasks in each of the four papers, not just reading and writing. |
