Background
I studied German and English Linguistics at Newcastle University in the 1980s, and began my career teaching English as a foreign language to all ages and levels in Germany and the UK. For 30 years, I have worked in sales and marketing, materials development, and training with many ELT publishers, distributors and teachers throughout the world. I am passionate about English Language teaching techniques and materials, and love networking in this fascinating, ever-changing business. It is my business to connect ELT professionals with each other, with experts and with the materials they create. Hence ELT CONNECTIONS. Today Since 2007 I have worked independently to introduce ideas and materials for publishers globally and deliver presentations or workshops, and to write materials. I also created and my own list of supplementary materials, focusing on teachers’ resources and skills books, which was bought by Collins ELT in 2013 Digital During the last ten years, I have committed myself to understanding and presenting digital and online materials to teachers and institutions, and how to effectively implement them into everyday English Language Teaching. |
